What is Natural Running?

Natural Running is a simple description of the combination of simple body movements that we as humans evolved to perform while moving at speed. Simply put, it's how we were made to run and a description of its parts.

The 2nd Annual Malibu Marathon

November 14th marks the 2nd Malibu Marathon brought to you by me and my crew at Forever Runners. Here's a pic of the towel that finishers will get..

Athens, Greece 2010

That's right, headed to Greece to run the Athens Classic Marathon on October 31, 2010. This race marks the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon where the legend of Phidipedes, and his run from Marathon(and who knows where else), first began! Stay tuned, I'm hoping to get over this cold so I can continue training and shoot for a sub 2:40 finish and personal best, we'll see what the Gods will allow...

2010!!

Started running training again after a rough 2:49 in the Surf City marathon at the beginning of the year.

So I began upping the mileage and took some time off my next race time to get 2nd place overall for the 2nd year in a row at the 2nd annual Pasadena marathon.

My most recent race was the LA Marathon where I ran a 2:42 and placed 30th overall. I was happy with that and began training for a sub 2:40

I got acute achilles tendinitis in training and am just starting to run again. Tomorrow after the Final of the World Cup, where Spain will be victorious, I start my 16 week training for the Athens Classic Marathon in Greece to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon in 490 B.C..

I will then return to host the 2nd year of our Marathon in Malibu!

Thats the plan...

Last Marathon of the 2009 #12 of the year

I decided to run and signed up for the Inaugural Santa Barbara marathon yesterday and ran it this morning. It was my first race since turning thirty and I randomly got the number thirty on my bib. It was going well, holding 4th place among some strong runners until around mile 15 where I completely dropped out of the race and ended up finishing in 3 hours flat. And even that was brutal. I was a bit sick and had been lifting weights heavily, even on Saturday, but I had to get 12 this year so I joined last minute.

The SB Marathon had good financing and everything was smooth and in order but the event lacked the spice that it could have had, as so many do. After six supposed years in the making they had the "shitty marathon classic rock cd" at the start and finish, lame Addidas t-shirts and piss poor medals. It seems that there are all these dorky standards in the marathon world that either no one notices or everyone is just to lazy to be creative. What a shameful waste of potential for such a radical sport. Step it up directors, marathons need a makeover!
